Taking a C++ OOP online-course

Two months ago, my dad told me to suscribe on the ACM, because, as he said,  it would be very useful while studying my career(computer science). Now I am an ACM Student Member; however, I didn’t know how to use it nor how to take advantage of all the benefits that the ACM bring to its members. Well, the first time I entered my ACM internet account, I notice its website was not so friendly and I didn’t know what to do or where to start, I mean, what I’m use to find useful is when I see parts of source code or well described algorithms.

After one month, I finally learned how to use my account(al least how to get more benefits from it). This happened when I found one of several emails sent to my gmail account. They were about 10 to 15 messages, that I hadn’t read. I could have ignored it, as always, but I saw a message that seems to be very interesting. Facebook Vanity URL

Hoy Sábado 13 (y parte de ayer 12), más de 200 000 usuarios (a estas alturas mucho más) cambiaron su URL de sus perfiles de Facebook de los conocidas direcciones en donde venían cosas parámetros como profile.php?id=XXXXXXXXX a pasar simplemente al formato Twitter (facebook.com/username) o como ellos lo denominan Vanity URL, y así dar facilidades a la hora de mostrar nuestro Perfil.

Lo interesante, y curioso de esto, es que todo el cambio ocurre después de una “veda” de tiempo restante, en donde se decía a que momento ya se podía efectuar el cambio, teniendo a los usuarios más que impacientes en sus computadores viendo como el reloj llegaba a la hora cero 0.

will17 El procedimiento es sencillo, si yo me llamo Juan Pérez y quiero un nombre de usuario JPEREZ, sólo tengo que ir a la página del cambio de URL (http://www.facebook.com/username), iniciar sesión y luego elegir el nombre JPEREZ, o escribirlo en caso de que no lo sugiera el propio Facebook, y entonces tendrá Juan Pérez su Vanity URL en http://www.facebook.com/jperez pero ya no lo podrá cambiar para nada y si elimina su cuenta, el nombre ya no estará disponible de nuevo, así que, a cuidar sus Vanitys.

Yo ya hice mi cambio!!!… me pueden visitar en http://www.facebook.com/will17  y si ustedes no lo han hecho y lo quieren!, pues apurense o cogeran los mejores y a ustedes les quedaran los feos XD.
